Area Activities - Falls of Dochart ~ Killin ~ Trossachs

What to do when you get here…

Walking and Hillwalking

After a hearty breakfast there’ s nothing better than strapping on a pair of walking boots and exploring the exciting trails and mountains around Killin. We’ re located within Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, which means you’ ll be spoilt by the variety of marvellous walks on offer, which can be tailored to suit any mood or ability

Rob Roy Way
A well traversed route, and for good reason, is the famous Rob Roy Way, which stretches across Scotland between Drymen and Pitlochry and passes through Killin. Not for the faint hearted, the 148 Km walk takes seven days, and follows the paths taken by villainous Rob Roy MacGregor in the 17th and 18th centuries.

We offer a shuttle service for walkers following in the footsteps of the famous Scottish outlaw, and after a well earned night spent recharging your batteries at the Inn, we’ ll be happy to drop you back en route.

Ben Lawers and the Munro’ s

If you’ ve set your sights on “ bagging,” a Munro, then climbing Ben Lawers, - the highest and by far the most impressive mountain in Perthshire, is an absolute must. The exquisite panoramic views of Scotland offered at its peak on a clear day include the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea.

And if that’ s whet your appetite for hill walking, you’ ll be glad to hear that there’ s nearly twenty Munro’ s in the area, including the amazing Tarmachan Ridge, Ben More and many more, visit for inspiration.

The Infinity Pool
On a warm summers day nothing beats a bracing dip in crystal clear Scottish fresh water. Last year we stumbled upon a truly magical picnic spot, which is about 40 minutes walk from the Inn, and has its’ own rock infinity pool surrounded by fantastic scenery. We can promise an unforgettable picnic at the unique hill side spot, so be sure to ask our staff for directions to its secret location.
